Jet (almost 1yo male neutered) isnt a super cuddle bun (like he doesnt want to be picked up/held) but is very fond of being pet!
The only problem is he sometimes nips my bare feet when Im walking around, not too hard, but enough to startle my sensitive self.
I read somewhere to gently push their head down when they bite (probably wrong, looking back)-
so I had done that and unfortunately…
I think I taught him- if he nips me- i will place my hand or toes on his head.. and he really enjoys that lol he thinks "this means the start of pets!"
Is there a way to gently discourage nipping? (Nothing like swatting at or hurting him!)
If it helps he is extremely treat motivated.. like he will bite your fingers off trying to get it (might need some help there too lol)
He really is awesome. The more time we spend together the more I understand what hes trying to tell me. It does seem like nipping = give me attention/ give me something.
