Okay I’m just here to excitedly rant because my bunny has officially arrived and it’s only been like 3–4 hours!!!
Right now he’s mostly laying down and breathing kind of fast (I’m guessing stress from the new environment + new smells + new human), but he’s also doing better than I expected already???
He hasn’t started eating properly yet, but he is going for hay and water here and there, which feels like a good sign this early on. He’s explored a little, played slightly with his toys, let me pet him, and even hopped onto my lap when I had snacks 😭
I genuinely thought he’d hide in a corner for the first 24 hours and want absolutely nothing to do with me, but instead he’s being cautious AND curious at the same time. You can tell he’s nervous (the fast breathing while laying down), but he’s not completely shutting down or hiding either.
So now I’m sitting here wondering…
is this pretty normal first-day bunny behavior? Like nervous but still nibbling hay and slowly checking things out? Or did I actually get lucky with a brave, social little bun who bonds quickly??
Either way I’m already obsessed and can’t believe he’s finally here 😭🐰
