I operate a backyard rabbit rescue. This is Sport. My area is known for large reptiles. People post rabbits to Craigslist all the time for free and I know people pick them up as fodder for those reptiles. My roommate and I take in rehomed/abandoned rabbits and this boy was left in a cage on the side of the road during summer with another rabbit. We took in both and after getting him fixed and making sure she wasn't pregnant, we introduced both to our rabbit pen. After slowly introducing both, we found he was not the perfect fit for our fluffle so he was moved inside after he received a nasty bite from our other fixed male. He tips his food dish, runs from us, thumps at us, bites us, but he cuddles up and grooms us when we have him on the couch and have a drink with him. He jumps in our lap and grooms our faces and acts like the sweetest little munchkin at times. He searches for pets and wants affection but only on his terms, acting like he's feral one moment and then snuggling in our arms the next like he was born to be pampered. He is the best rabbit I've ever rescued out of the dozen and I love him to pieces. I hope he can bring some joy to others as well. As I write this, my roommate is drunk, spouting nonesense to him about Garnet from Steven Universe and complaining about how sweet and soft he is. He licks me through the conversation and lounges like a little king. I hope everyone can understand how amazing rabbits are and I hope you all enjoy my sassy little rabbit.
