My rabbit Meatball is 5 years old and started showing reoccurring symptoms of stasis and progress seemed difficult unlike other times we’ve dealt with it. I took her to the emergency vet as all the other vets wouldn’t be able to take her in until two weeks. When we took her in she was still eating and drinking on her own but I could tell it was below her usual amount.
The vet experience was very frustrating to say the least. The vet felt her stomach and insisted she felt something abnormal. We got X-rays and bloodwork done and everything came back normal. Since she wasn’t able to find anything she recommended her getting a dental done even though she had said her teeth looked ok and previous vets have never mentioned dental issues.
It wasn’t until I mentioned possible EC that she recommended doing that bloodwork as well. I asked how long it would take for those results to come back and she said 3-5 days. Here we are on day 8 and they still haven’t gotten the results.
Meatball is doing well, eating and drinking on her own and she has a good amount of energy but I can still tell that she isn’t 100% well. Has anyone ever experienced GI issues linked to EC ? We have another appointment with another vet coming up soon and hoping to get better answers.
