She was my first ever bunny. Unfortunately our houses electricity malfunctioned overnight when we were asleep. I found her alone in the morning before calling my fiance. We gently moved her onto her own cloth and well prepare a little grave for her when were ready. Im absolutely devastated. She was only 5 months old and had her whole life ahead of her. It couldnt have been stopped because we had absolutely no idea that the electricity would malfunction, it went over the floor without grounding, that was already established. I just need help with grief because as much as i have 3 boy cats who have already said their goodbye to their bunny sister she was still rhe first pet in my life who i have lost next to me. Her name was kahwa and she was very very deeply loved by all of us including her 3 cat brothers who accepted her immediately. What helps for the chest pain and constant crying? What couldve gotten any of you through the day? I need gentle help because i genuinely feel like im falling apart. Thank you all for the attention and im sorry if its too much information.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my bunny last month so I understand what you’re going through. First off, don’t blame yourself, like you said it couldn’t have been predicted or prevented. You obviously loved her very much. Give yourself time to grieve, spend it with your fiance and kitties who are also going to miss her. I had my little guy cremated and kept some of his fur and toys, when the grief was really heavy I would hold his fur and toys while crying. I still sometimes just sit around and hold his fur because I miss him. Let yourself feel your feelings. The loss never goes away, but carrying it gets easier. There are still days when it’s hard, but lean on your family for support. You’ll get through this 💕
I am Sorry for your loss.
But please check your electrical installation with a professional. For your own sake and your 3 cats. I am an engineer and what you are saying it’s not possible or at least extremely unlikely. Touching the floor, even if not grounded is not a cause for an electric shock. It’s possible though that you gave an appliance or something metallic that is short circuites to the mains power and if poorly grounded it can be lethal.
