Hi. I've had my one rabbit, Leon, a black and white lionhead, for about 2 years. I got a new rabbit, Chai, a white and brown mini rex(?), a little under a year ago. Chai is significantly younger than Leon (dont know if that changes things). They got along really well off the bat- no fights, no nipping, no spraying. After a while I consolidated their cages into one. Chai would follow Leon around everywhere and they were constantly grooming each other and cuddling. One day it just randomly stopped. They started fighting really badly with Chai as the aggressor. I separated their pens before too much trauma could be done, but it didn't really help.
I got Chai neutered in December, hoping I could slowly rebond them but nothing has been working. Chai attacks on sight, biting, crying, thumping, scratching, spraying, everything. Poor Leon just sits there pitiful and confused and flinches every time. Never attacks back. Never even raises his tail. I don't know what to do! I feel like I've tried every bonding trick I know of and Chai still just hates his guts for no reason.
Things I've Tried (albeit not too consistently):
– Meeting in the bathtub (with toys, hides, treats)
– Swapping cages
– Swapping litter
– Swapping toys/hides
– Brushing one right after another with the same comb
– Cages beside each other
– Cages on opposite sides of the room
TLDR: My one young aggressive neutered male continues to attack my older passive unneutered male. What do I do?
