Hey! I’ve run into an issue. My bunny, Keksas (Loaf in English – I know, very original 😅), is slowly but steadily annihilating my sofa.
At first, he started chewing the very bottom/underside of it. He never chewed any of the furniture in my previous flat, so I was confused about the sudden change in behavior. My theory was that he wanted to turn the underside into his “man cave”, so, as you can see in the picture, I lifted it – and that seemed to resolve the issue.
But a couple of days ago, he started digging into the sofa itself from the bottom. I can’t even tell exactly where he’s digging in, but there’s enough stuffing coming out (and enough chewing sounds 🥲) that I know he’s really putting in the work.
The funny part is that he has plenty of toys and unlimited hay, so I’m genuinely confused why the sofa is suddenly the chosen snack. 😭
Of course, I could try blocking off all the entry points, but it already looks a bit scuffed with the wooden bricks under the legs, so I’d like to avoid that if possible.
Is there any solution for this, like a natural repellent (nothing harmful, obviously), or any other ideas? I’d really appreciate any suggestions. I’m worried he could get hurt by eating the stuffing or by getting inside the sofa and injuring himself or getting stuck.
