Day one went about as expected for any two bunnies.
There was some lunging, after all this is his home and she’s a newcomer (and a baby).
Rather than stress them out by repeating that too soon or too often, I went with the cage swap method.
Definitely seems like the better approach.
Both are extremely active and curious every time they are swapped. It seems less stressful for them (him).
And his side is ever so slightly bigger (and better) with a tunnel and playpen attached.
The mesh tunnel is giving them a chance to sniff each other out and get close while protecting from claws and teeth.
I like it.
They seem to like it, too.
Here are some calm sniffs before she takes off with big zoomies.
Not pictured (though I think I’ll set up my camera next time) is the second meeting in the kitchen.
I held Mochi on my lap and pet him to keep him calm and let Noelle sniff him.
Then I swapped. Mochi took one little sniff and hopped off back to his home.
She’s SO EXCITED and he’s so indifferent.
It reminds me just a little of Carl and Russell from Up😝
Mochi is the boy, the bigger fluffball
Noelle is the girl, the smaller default-setting bun who I promise is a domestic bun lol!!
