This is the setup I have for the current massive winter storm, but it’s not working. Lucas already chewed 2 big holes in the back right corner of the mesh, and I know it’s because he doesn’t want to stay in his little tent but my dad doesn’t even want him inside, and this was the only compromise.
I was cutting a pomegranate and felt his little paws on the back of my calf, so I knew he had gotten out. Went to check the tent to see if he unzipped the side, as he’s done before, but no. He went THROUGH the side.
I went and got his temporary cage, which is a pop-up dog crate, and placed it right behind the hole so that if he tries to use it again, he just goes into the crate, but it only seems to be encouraging him to use said hole. I also tied one of his bell balls onto the mesh so that ever time he goes out, I hear him and can come watch to make sure he’s not bad.
Any ideas on how to keep him from doing it again? I know that none of the current setup is ideal, but I’m trying to do the best with what little leeway my parents give me.
