The bathtub photos are my first re attempt at having my 4 buns meet together in a neutral space again after I kinda lost hope that they'd ever bond due to the 2 boys always nipping and escalating to fighting, prior to this date last year and this month they have gone to the vet together in the same carrier (Don't worry i was next to them with an extra carrier in case I needed to separate).
i'm so happy that after almost 10 minutes Bobi (Male bonded to Bobo and Freckles) finally licked Gogo's eyes/face! progress! the last time that happened was a year ago during one of their health check appointments in the carrier at the vet, while one of the other buns was being weighed he started grooming Gogo.
Just a week ago I woke up to hear a family member freaking out and saw Gogo in the other 3 buns enclosure and without realising how he got in i unlocked the gate and calmly grabbed one of the fighting buns, since they're both REW's i couldn't tell who was who until I stopped the fight.
The one I picked up was Bobi so once I realised Gogo was the other one I immediately placed Bobi down away from Gogo and then scooped Gogo up and removed him from the others space. Turns out I screwed up by not properly securing the gate this whole time i lock the top part of the gate and Gogo was able to push the bottom of the gate to get in, I have now changed the way it locks and tested it thoroughly so there will be no more bun invasions.
I seriously can't overstate how happy I am that despite the time passes since their last date and all the mishaps and scuffles that have taken place, there is still hope that i can finally bond them and take down the Great Wall of Bun and give them full access to the loungeroom and allow them all free roam throughout the house at the same time. Their living space has gone through about 4 or 5 different layout changes since I took Gogo in 1 1/2 years ago 🥲
