So for context, me and my family found a domesticated rabbit in our garden. It was in our garden for a week before we were able to catch and rescue it. Vets gave the rabbit a check and she’s all okay and she is now ours. Where I live vets don’t really specialise in smaller animals, and without travelling really far or being incredibly expensive we weren’t able to get much information on her unfortunately, especially as she had no background.
She was incredibly small when we first had her, maybe the size of a small handball. In the past 6 months I’d say she’s gotten around 30-40% bigger. She eats so much too (potentially could still be a baby we don’t know). The last picture for reference was about 4 weeks after we got her, she’s now a lot bigger!
We have gotten her an enclosure with a small hutch in it. I have had many animals before, never a rabbit however so I am trying my best. The enclosure is probably 2mx2.5m and around 1.25m tall, which I believe is enough space, even though she is still relatively small despite growing loads. Feeding her unlimited hay, nuggets (£10-£15 for 3kg of Amazon mid range ones) and a handful of veg each day and sometimes she gets through that in an hour lol.
However, we still know very little information about her! Just wanted to put something out on Reddit to see if we can get anymore info! If anyone recognises this breed/potential age/ anything! It would be appreciated as she’s a really really sweet rabbit and I wish I knew more, that’s all! Also some general tips for keeping a rabbit too if you can. Thanks!
