Hey all, what a start to the new year 😔
I noticed my brown boy (blue) stopped eating nearly 3 days ago, but I couldn’t afford the emergency vet consultation. I made some paste from their pellets, and began syringe feeding him to try and keep his gut going until today.
He made it through, and has now been seen and diagnosed with GI stasis. He’s in pain meds, and have some meds to start his digestive track working again, and we’ve got some critical care being delivered today.
Now what I didn’t expect, was to find his brother dead this morning. My grey baby (Freddie), who has had no health issues, eating normally, playing, running, coming for a fuss, peeing and pooping, just gone, no warning.
I’ve now been left in this situation, one poorly rabbit, with his brother no longer here to give him the support he needs. It’s hard for me, but I know this has got to be awful for my baby blue.
I’ve reached out to quite a few people and groups, but no one’s really given me any ideas on where to rehome my baby blue too. I plan on sticking with him while he recovers, and ensuring everything else is okay with him before he moves.
It hurts to even think about rehoming him, but it’s not fair on him to live out the rest of his life on his own.
If anyone can give me some ideas on where to look for rehoming, would be greatly appreciated. (UK, England, Shropshire)
