i currently have a 9 month old neutered male holland lop and have been looking for another rabbit to bond with him.
there is a 1 year old male american rabbit at our local shelter that i met and have become attached to, he’s very sweet and friendly even willing to cuddle and i would love to adopt, but i’ve been doing some research and im still not quite sure if it would just be better for me to find a female to bond with him even if she’s not as open to human interaction. i’m aware how much work bonding two rabbits requires and i’m just wondering if it would make more sense to get a female instead of a younger neutered male that is already sweet.
i want the best for my current rabbit as well as his future brother or sister. any advice would be appreciated, both rabbits will free roam once they’re bonded and until then will be in large xpen’s that are bigger than the minimum size requirements.
