Does anyone else use bedding on the entire floor of the pen?

In the past year I’ve switched to a mix of shavings, newspaper, and paper bedding per veterinarian’s recommendations.

It’s helped with keeping the area and the animals cleaner (my Californians are truly disgusting critters) and helping with sore hocks. I couldn’t commit to sweeping and mopping everyday and this has improved my quality of life and theirs.
