Our Netherland Dwarf, Petunia, started acting funny on Dec 10th. Took her to the vet Dec 11th because she had started a slight ticking head tilt. They treated her for E Cuniculi (baytril) and she seemed to be getting better. On Dec 23rd I took her to the emergency vet because she suddenly had cracked open skin and infection between her ears. In a matter of 12 hours (overnight from the 22nd) she looked terrible, and her head tilt became almost a contortion. She is now also on dewormer incase its Sarcocystis, azithromycin, and has run out of Meloxicam. Huge sloughs of fur have come off and I just found another pocket of infection that has surfaced. We are doing sterile water flushes 1-2 times a day with betadine. Has anyone else been through this? She’s eating. She grumped at me for not giving her a big enough fist full of hay after her last flush. Any suggestions? She doesn’t deserve to be so uncomfortable.
