so on Friday night strudel was napping and then out of nowhere completely somersaulted herself awake. It was like headfirst complete 360 loud thud, she seemed a little dazed and tilted for a hot minute, but then seemed fine afterwards. She was zooming around, she ran up to me and stood up on her hind legs, and then kind of toppled backwards. She would seem fine for extended periods of time and then seem to suddenly lose her balance, but then readjust and continue zooming. Saturday morning I called the vet and they said I could come in on Monday but only for a “drop off“ appointment. I would drop her off in the morning before they open and they would try to squeeze her in between appointments. So she could be hanging out in a back room potentially for hours. since then she’s continuing her usual rabbit activities, eating,drinking, pooping normally, chucking her toys around, absolutely no lethargy. In fact, I would say she’s actually more active than usual. Lots of zooming. And she seem fine for hours, but then she’ll start wobbling, and seem kind of confused. I’ll call her name or shake her treats and she’ll abruptly turn the opposite way, she can hear, but it seems like she’s kind of lost on where the sound is coming from. She’s had EC twice and she’s seven years old, so I would rather air on the side of caution for any kind of wobble. She also does have lopped ears, so I figure an ear infection is possible. But I’m really worried about this whole “drop off” thing. I don’t know if it’s worth potentially stressing her into stasis when she really seems pretty OK right now. But at the same time, I don’t want to just wait around because I know rabbits can very quickly dip. And because it’s the holidays if I don’t go to this appointment, I’m really out of luck. Even the emergency vets aren’t open on Christmas. I know my vet is rabbit savvy, but even if they put her out of the way there will be dogs likely barking all day. I definitely feel like something is brewing, but I’m not sure what to do. Has anyone else had any experience with drop off visits?
