Can urine stains from breeder’s barn not be wiped?

Got an 8-week old bunny last night. He's actually pretty tiny & this pic has been zoomed into. He loves to be pet & flops next to me when I'm in his playpen.

I took him to a vet today & she said his dirty rear feet & nose can't be wiped, and that I should wait for him to grow new fur to lose the urine stains.

The breeder didn't tell me that there's something wrong with his rear feet – he's hesitant to use them, so he can't hop/run fast. However, I was concerned if he was in pain. Although the vet said he likely isn't, I still suspect he might be, as he over-grooms them.

He loves spreading hay all over his play-pen, but barely eats it (I tried 3 types). He created a huge mess when I was gone for a few hours. He loves pellets.

He let me pick him up from the pet carrier after coming from the vet's, but not before/after it.

A Christmas vacation may not be possible if he won't be comfortable being picked up for private TSA security checks.
