Advice for a Shy Bunny

I have had a bunny in the past and she was super friendly and cuddly, no issues with picking up or spending time with her, but the bunny that I recently adopted is quite the opposite. I’m a little worried that he won’t warm up to me picking him up or petting him. When I try to pet him he bunches up in a ball and when I pick him up he flips out.

He’s free roam as I thought that this might help him come out of his shell. As well as I’ve stopped trying to pick him up unless necessary. He does come out of his home base on him own and runs around before going back in which is a step from when I got him on Tuesday. I know it hasn’t been long since getting him, so Im not extremely worried but it has been crossing my mind. I also try to let him explore my bed with me laying on it as well as laying on the floor when he is exploring. He has came up to me before and put his paws on me as leverage to see around, so maybe that is a good sign?

I know all buns are different though as he is only 8 months old. I o plan on neutering him within the next couple of weeks before I go back to for the spring semester, will that help with his shyness?

His name is Stormie and he is a Mini Lop about 8 months old!

If anyone has any advice on what to do to help him warm up please feel free to comment!
