I have a 11mo spayed female bun (the big girl) and now a 2.5mo old male rabbit (not fixed yet). My female bun has free roam in the back of my house between my office, two bedrooms, and hallway. Shes never been bonded.
I’ve been keeping the new guy in a pen in the living room, with a separate gate at the start of the hallway to get into the living room (so she can’t access this room at all anymore without me lifting the gate).
Before he came, she never really cared to come into the living room…but since we got Bao (boy bun), she’s been asking to come in here to investigate. They smell each other through the pen, and she does some territorial poops, but they don’t show aggressive behavior towards each other aside from maybe the first day. He was scratching at the corner and she got scared and did a little grunt. They usually just flop and lay like in the picture. I’m wondering if this is a good sign they may be a good pair or if it’s too soon to tell? She’s overall been so much more energetic and social since he’s gotten here, even when she’s away from him which makes me so happy since I got him for her….but I am not sure if that’s just a coincidence!
