This little guy has been around our neighbors yard since September. They have a bird feeder so it's been eating the seeds and nuts that have fallen from it (just like the other wild rabbits).
It's getting cold and we've noticed it's puffed up and sitting near the chainlink fence between our houses and under the lilac trees for cover.
This morning I came outside to do yard work for my chickens and the chicken wire I was carrying scrapped against the fence. I heard a rustle and realized that the bunny was a few feet from me on the other side of the fence. I thought it was super weird that it didn't run away, so I just stared at it and realized that's not a wild rabbit, that's someone's pet.
I've been scouring local missing pet pages (Facebook, reddit, Pet911, and Petkey) with no luck.
Let me know if I'm wrong.
If I'm right, I need tips on how to catch him (I do have a small pet carrier).
I know it's unlikely for bunnies to be microchipped, but I still plan on bringing him to a local vet to scan and check.
Any tips or resources are appreciated. Thank you.
