Bumper has been having a hair loss issue under the chin. He’s a messy eater and when he eats and drinks the liquid gets everywhere under his chin. He’s gone to the exotic vet already and they said his teeth are fine so this might just be how he eats. He’s from the shelter so they said it might be a food insecurity issue in the past that causes him to eat so ravenously. They said it’s probably due to the residual wetness causing irritation. But I feel like the patch is getting bigger and bigger. It gets scaly and fur gets matted. Then when I try to brush the clumpy fur out, it kinda just falls out leaving a bald spot. I try to wipe him down after meals but that doesn’t really do much. Has anyone else dealt with this before? I’ve gotten the water fountain already so hopefully that stops hims from dipping his face into the water but is there anything else that would be helpful.
