Nursing rabbit can't seem to handle unlimited pellets
Just as the title says- my rabbit rescue gave birth shortly after i caught her (i found her in my backyard).
The last month i eased her into being free-fed pellets by giving her more gradually, and since her babies starting eating pellets last week, now i make sure to keep a full bowl for them.
Momma rabbit has abandoned hay completely and is only eating pellets 24/7 and veggies at night. She is losing her litter habits and pooping piles all around my room.. I assume this is due to the mass amount of pellets.
Is this okay? I know nursing moms should have access to unlimited pellets as well, but usually rabbits know their limits. She is non-stop eating them.
I'm not sure if her being born outside and constantly having to search for food for her first year has anything to do with her gluttony now, but this is stressful!
