We are currently working on getting feedback from a rabbit rescue/rabbit experts in the area, but I figured Reddit was a decent place to ask for advice!
This rabbit and other piebalds of the same build have been posted to my local Facebook group in the same area. One was confirmed wild. This one was posted a few times and was skittish, not wanted to be approached and had to be forcibly captured today. As wilds do not thrive in captivity, some of us are looking for more input.
Most people are saying this is wild and I believe it to be as well. Looking for more opinions from those more familiar with rabbits. Was found in South Eastern Ontario Canada, where we have cottontails and snowshoe hares as native species.

Better angles would be better, but from this sole picture, I would lean towards a leucistic cottontail or molting hare.
That…kind of looks like a snowshoe hare? The coloring and face shape look very snowshoe hare to me. What a find if so!
It looks like a snowshoe hare to me. Ridiculous that a rescue would capture a bunny just because it’s white when that it is a native species in the area.
