I’ve fostered rabbits before but all unspayed/unneutered, so poor litter training was to be expected. But the bun I have now is supposed to be neutered and his previous owner said his litter skills were flawless.
But his first two nights here, he’s pooping in piles everywhere except his litter box, and also resting in his litter box and on none of the bed/carpeting options I gave. I assume this is all ‘new home! Scary!’ behavior to help him feel settled, but I want to be sure it’s common, and also want to make sure I’m doing what I can to curb the behavior and encourage back
I’ve since made his pen smaller to decrease his territory and have been putting his droppings into the litter box. I also read getting a second littler box would help. My question is, for this second litter box, would I also provide hay?
All tips and advice welcome!
