I haven’t really slept in the past 12 hours or so please excuse any typos etc. around 4 am on October 26, 2025, my beloved boy truffle passed away in my arms after complications with his GI tract and stomach. He was pretty high on several medications so luckily he wasn’t in pain or at least minimal pain. He had been feeling off for a bit since yesterday afternoon so we took him into the vet, did everything we could but very unfortunately he didn’t make it.
Truffle, thank you so much for being a part of my life, you were our little bunny dog, and you always made me laugh so much with your little antics. Your spunk and personality has always been one of my favorites among our bunny family and I will miss you so so much. I remember the day we adopted you from our family friend’s surprise litter with your brother sesame, my uncle had nicknamed you ‘Crack’ due to your eccentric and crazy behaviors, a nickname that we still called you occasionally until the end. I’m glad you’re in a better place and that I was able to stick with you until the very end. Thank you so much truffle, I love you forever.
Update: left his body with his brother (sesame, black bun in the pictures) who he is bonded to for about 3-4 hours for sesame to come to terms with the loss. We’re going to take truffle to be cremated later today. I miss him so much already, he was acting perfectly fine on Friday and before and I have no idea what happened. I know that’s the thing with bunnies-they’re prey animals and incredibly fragile-but it’s still so unfair. I wasn’t ready to lose him yet.
