my girlfriend and i each own a bunny and we plan to move in with each other. hers is an adult male (3-4 years?) while mine is a year old female. we plan to put a gate between the two with some sort of covering to begin but i was hoping to get any other advice you can give? we’re going to do the feeding on either side and just try to normalize each with the other before they even see each other and then we’ll slowly lift the covering as the days go on. i’ve never introduced two bunnies together but i have with cats, dogs and rats… i just know/have heard that it can be extremely dangerous from the very start and that it doesn’t take much for them to severely harm each other and themselves.
(in the photo is my bun sage, my girlfriends bun is a good amount taller than her so that also worries me)
—we are prepared to have to do permanent separation and know that they may never get along id just like to do it as safely as possible and with the highest chance of success.
