So we have two free roam bunnies that live upstairs in our living/dining/kitchen open solution 55sqm. They are very well behaved and potty trained, and we have now reduced their free roam area to about 30sqm due to some issues with peeing/pooping in a specific corner. They will NEVER pee or poop other than in their litter box in the area they have 24/7 access to. I have tried to illustrate it with the picture below. They each have their own litter box and for the entire 30sqm area we rarely see even an odd poop outside the boxes.
The issue is that when we are upstairs and open the fence they will go to the opposite corner specifically and almost always leave lots of poop and pee. Illustrated in picture top right. It’s hardwood floors and some carpets, they have done this ever since we moved here(1 yr ago). We have attempted cleaning the area vigorously, tried vinegar solution as well, but it just won’t stop. This is why we now have a fence stretching the entire room effectively splitting it in half. However we do wish to go back to giving them the entire area as they enjoy laying on the chairs under the dining room table during the night.
Also added obvious bunny tax of my two sweet boys.
Any of y’all have other tricks we can attempt?
