I’ve had many a buns, and have also fostered a bunch. I have a rescue who seems to me as if she has already lived alone, maybe taken from mother too young? As she doesn’t seem to know how to gently groom.
My bunny doesn’t know how to do that, instead, she nips. And it hurts, I know she’s trying to show love so I try to handle it, but her nips leave marks and it’s painful. I don’t want to discourage her from showing love, but I need it in a way that doesn’t make me wince 😅
This may be a huge shot in the dark, but how can I teach her to lick and not nip?
I’ve tried petting her as if I was a rabbit, with licking motions, but of course she has fur so it may not come across like I want it too. She is spayed and is maybe 4 years old.
