I bought a camera to watch you once,
but now it only stares
because you are no longer there.
Your room remains as you left it,
soft echoes in cardboard and straw.
The little paths your paws once made
still cross the floor in memory.
The air still holds the scent of hay,
forever unchewed,
and toys that will never be used.
Spirit, my gentle soul of calm,
and Sienna, my brave little light,
you taught me love that never ends
and how to stay even through night.
Now the camera only stares,
but I no longer look for you there,
because though I cannot see your forms,
I feel you in the air.
You are not gone,
you are not there,
forever you will be
everywhere.
