Leptospirosis vaccine?

I'm taking my girl to get her RHDV booster, and the vaccine clinic she goes to is now offering a leptospirosis vaccine for rabbits. Has anyone else given that one to their rabbits? She's a 100% indoor rabbit, so I figure her risk of exposure is minimal, but I thought I'd check and see what everyone else thinks about it/recommends, since I didn't know the vaccine existed for buns until today 😅

Going to be honest – I work in vetmed…

I’ve never ever heard of this, but I’m sure more at-risk buns are the ones who go outside.

That is an odd one to include. Generally it is only an issue in specific locations that have a lot of rats. I vaccinated my dog back in the day when I lived in a city that kept having outbreaks of it. Otherwise I was told (at the time) that the side effects from the vaccine make it not worth it since the risk is really low.

I would ask them why they are recommending that vaccine and if it is specifically for rabbits. It just seems odd.

I’ve never heard of the leptospirosis vaccine for rabbits, just for dogs. Did the vet suggest this or the receptionist?
