Snuffleupagus will ONLY eat alfalfa hay, specifically from the Canadian brand, Blue Mountain. It smells lovely, super fragrant, but is quite powdery, which makes him sneeze. He's now 5.5 months, so we are working on gradually switching him off of it.
He came to us at 8 weeks old from the shelter (started as a foster) with a supply of Timothy hay, which he didn't eat. We switched him gradually to alfalfa, given his age, and he LOVED it. Goes crazy for it. Though he won't eat Oxbow hay, only the blue mountain stuff.
Now, we are mixing in a bit of Blue Mountain-brand orchard hay, which is also supposed to be fairly sweet, and he will not touch it. Picks out the alfalfa and that's that.
Any suggestions?
