Bunny

Wild or domestic? Next steps?

I discovered a rabbit living in the under tray of my car. Based on what my neighbours have seen, it appears to have been holed up in there for at least two days. When we were trying to wrangle it out of there, it ate from our hands and let us pet it but it was also a bit cautious. When it got out of the car it did not sprint away or panic entirely but it was definitely afraid of being picked up. It does not startle when we look at him in the cage and it does not appear to be exhibiting any clear signs of stress. It’s very soft and clean and has a solid grey colour coat. We’re worried it’s a domesticated pet and have brought it into our home until we can determine our next steps. Can anyone identify the species and whether or not it is a local species to Quebec? We would appreciate any advice on next steps (regardless of whether it is determined to be wild or domestic) as we have no experience with rabbits and we’re pretty sure releasing it will just result in it living in my car again. Thanks!
