My rabbit Link, who's a 11 year old rabbit stopped moving, pooping and eating on Thursday. We rushed him to the Veterinaire (who was already surprised by his age) and he gave him two injections and a paste to force feed him 3 times a day. He told us that he sadly has not a lot of hope, since even young rabbits often don't survive this sickness. Well, guess who managed to surprise everyone!!
He is back being his old grumpy self. With lots of poops for me to clean up after and a fresh haircut, since he was very matted.
We lost his one and only rabbit-friend to the same sickness when he was only 3 years old.
PS: I know rabbits need partners. I have tried so so many different rabbits, tried every single trick I could find, but since his friend Mido died he did never, ever accept any other rabbit. I'd love that he has one with him. He does love my male cat though for some reason. So he is not alone. It's his choice and I won't force him to live with someone he does not want there.
