I took my rabbit to the vet. She weighs around 4kg, so not small, but the vet was very concerned that surgery could be dangerous because of the anesthesia risk. For now, they didn’t do surgery and instead gave her Meloxicam and a Plamide injection.
She is eating and walking normally. The pus has gone down a bit, but there is still swelling left on her paw/nail area. The vet said surgery is too risky, so I want to ask: is there any medicine that could help reduce the swelling/infection in the paw without surgery?
I will bring her back to the vet for follow-up, but I really don’t want her to be in pain.
