New rabbit owner here. This is T-Rex. We found him in a neighborhood, he just hopped up to us at the park. We took him to the shelter and no one claimed him so he’s our newest family member now.
Shelter says he is about 3 years old and we have had him about 3 weeks. He was neutered when we adopted him. So far he’s adjusting well and started using the litter box with the occasional poop outside of it. He’s free range in a bedroom for 3-5 hours a day and has a cage with a stainless steel litter box with a pee pad, paper litter and lots of hay. The past few days I’ve noticed he has been pooping a lot more out of his box and now he is also starting to pee in a few spots around the room. Is this still just him adjusting to his new home or hormones? Besides putting the poops in the box and cleaning up the pee, is there anything else I should be doing? I do change his litter box daily just because he poops so much. Any tips are appreciated! Thanks!
