Hi ! I need advice here. My rabbit ( 7 years old) has a very bad dental abscess. We went to the vet today and she told me that 4 of his teeth seem to be problematic maybe more we need more imaging to be sure. But she said she at least we will have to remove the tooth or teeth with the abscess which is already a big procedure with a general anesthesia. She said that in the long run he will need to have all 4 teeth removed so that means even more surgery’s to come and even more if we discover that more teeth are affected on the imaging. My question is, is it better to remove his teeth which means several surgery’s and anesthesia or is it better to keep him comfortable with painkillers and antibiotics until it doesn’t work anymore ? I don’t want him to live the last month of his life on an operating table and maybe not even surviving it. She said there’s only around 30% chance that everything will go well. I don’t know what to do..
