Hi! I just adopted these two bunnies from a rescue that’s about six hours away from me. My family has a cabin that’s four hours from the rescue and three hours from my house, so I decided to stay there overnight. I picked them up this morning, and the drive back took closer to five hours. On the way, they hardly ate or drank. About four hours in, Stephen (the white one) nibbled some lettuce and I also heard a kind of sniffling noise which concerned me, but that was about it. We made it to the cabin about four hours ago. I set up a playpen with their carrier inside and put a litter box in the carrier too. They’ve mostly been hiding in the carrier, which makes it hard to know if they’ve pooped. So far, I’ve only seen them eat a little hay. They refused the greens and banana I offered, but when I left and came back, some greens were gone and the banana was finished. One of them peed in the corner of the playpen, but I’m not sure about anything else. I still have another three-hour drive tomorrow to get them home, and I have a vet appointment scheduled for Friday. I know all the travel and new environments are stressful, and I’m worried it could lead to GI stasis. Any advice would be really appreciated 🙏
