So! Today is the second day of Simon (2 month old bunny we adopted) living with us. We removed oak shavings as you recommended, also he was chewing them, so yeah, no shavings.
He's still a little scared but there's a progress. He lets us pat him a little, he's not hiding in the corner of the cage anymore. Also, today he managed to escape the cage and free roam while I was sleeping. It didn't last long, my mom (Simon's grandma) noticed it and woke me up. We had to remove items in the cage that helped him escape. I opened the cage door several times but Simon didn't leave his place anymore.
I'm trying to befriend him by laying near the cage and spending some time together. Sometimes he runs to the other side, but sometimes he comes and sniffs me. Especially he does this when I'm laying, so I'm on the same level as him. By the way, he laid like this near me, does this mean Simon feels safe around me?
