Female lionhead health?

Hi everyone,

Apologies if I’m asking something obvious but every now and then I’ve noticed my female lionhead gets what looks like an inflammatory reaction/infection around her genital region. My previous vet said it was pus and very harshly squeezed it out causing her discomfort and distress. Does anyone have anymore information on what this is and how best to deal with it, or if it’s best to leave it alone.
