Bunny

This is Simon, my new bun

Can't wait to become a bunny mom! I already posted him here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bunnies/s/HQsJh9cJbd
Different comments said different things about his behaviour and I'm deeply concerned. Because now I'd like to know should I do to create safe relationships between us? How do I make him my best friend? Our first meeting went probably well but I'm not sure. Also I'd like to get some recommendations on how to make him happy and healthy.

Simon is a precious baby 😍

For the bonding with you, it’s good to get down to buns level. If you can sit in an area he knows, let him approach you first. Curiosity will likely drive him to come and check you out.

An treat offered by hand might also help. Not all the time as that might become expected from you every time 😉

Speak to him too, often, so he becomes familiar with your voice. A bun’s visual of you might not be sharp. They identify their humans by shape, smell and sound.

If Simon doesn’t mind, I’d love to see an update when he has settled in.

Well since they are prey aninals make sure you always on his level. Like many said in the other post if you need hold him you secure his body from underneath and never flip him ober to his back that is called a trance and can cause death if they get so fearful. When they flop it looke like they are dead but just watch his breathing. Alway provide 24/7 hay and fresh water if possible in bowl not water bottle its more natural and cleaner. Clean his place daily makes him stay more clean and healthy. For the first 6 month he need alfalfa pellets and hay in his nourishment. After that start introducing leafy greens but not all is safe. Always do little amounts to see how he reacts. Make sure he eats hay that is crucial for healthy digestion. Otherwise he can get GI stasis which also can be deadly. Do some research online there are few great people with information The bunny lady, Lennon the bunny. Etc. Also many people use Oxbow or Small pet select products.
Also if you are able free roam him. Get an Xpen that he can access. Play and talk to him in soft voice do he gets used to it. Use treats in this case pellets to bond. They like scratches if head top ear and shoulder massage ls too. In time you may be able to touch him in other parts some bunnys don’t mind. Toys for entertainment you can always make from safe paper products. Many people use the rolls cut them and stuff them with hay and treats. But there are many safe toys you can look up too. Digging/foraging box too.
Most importantly be patient and be with him as much possible so he will get used to you.
He is very cute and good luck. You got this ☺️❤️💖

Also remember he is still young and scared of new environment. Which is why I suggested to sit with him a lot so he will come to you snd let him be around you any time you introduce anything should be done slow and small amount especially new foods. ☺️ hope it helps
Also before I forget look up a tabbit savvy exotic vet and make an appointment to get him checked out. Important make sure before you taoe him anywhere you take him there first and get the vaccine for Rabbit hemorrhaging virus which can take your rabbits life. Be safe. And make plans for neuter him in the future. And put money aside for emergencies. Better be ready than not. ☝️❤️☺️
