A reduced fire service presence remains at the scene of a major fire in Nottingham city centre this morning (Tuesday 6 October), after crews worked through the night.
At the height of the incident, 12 fire engines were attending the fire at a residential property on Market Street.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said there have been no reports of any injuries at this stage.
The incident continues to affect transport through the city centre, with NET tram services remaining suspended in both directions between Theatre Royal and Old Market Square.

Roads in the area have reopened to one lane, but the fire service has warned that significant traffic disruption is expected during the morning and is advising motorists to use alternative routes where possible.
A fire investigation is scheduled to take place later today.

Crews were first called to the residential property on Market Street on Monday evening.
At 10.25pm, the fire service advised people to avoid the area and told nearby residents affected by smoke to keep doors and windows closed.
By 10.55pm, 12 fire engines were at the scene.

Road closures were put in place on Upper Parliament Street, Lower Parliament Street, Market Street, King Street and Queen Street, while tram services were stopped between Theatre Royal and Old Market Square.
At midnight, firefighters remained at the scene and said crews were likely to be there for several more hours, with the road closures and tram disruption still in place.
In its latest update on Tuesday morning, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews have been working hard overnight, and a reduced presence remains on scene this morning.”
It added that heavy traffic disruption was expected and urged people to use alternative routes where possible.
The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed. A fire investigation is due to take place later on Tuesday.
