D-Wave Partners with University of Arkansas to Establish Quantum Supply Chain Initiative

Dual-platform quantum hardware and software provider D-Wave Quantum Inc. (NASDAQ: QBTS) has announced a strategic partnership with the Supply Chain Management Research Center (SCMRC) in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. Formally unveiled during the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) EDGE 2026 conference, the collaboration establishes the Quantum Supply Chain Initiative Support Fund to advance research, education, and commercial deployment of quantum optimization tools across global supply chains.

The initiative focuses on leveraging quantum annealing and hybrid quantum-classical solvers to tackle complex logistics and operations research bottlenecks. Specific focus areas include dynamic transportation routing, multi-echelon inventory and resource allocation, logistics network topology design, scheduling, and real-time decision-making during severe supply chain disruptions. As part of the agreement, D-Wave joins SCMRC’s industry partnership program, expanding the center’s collaborative network across retail, freight, and national defense sectors.
