Had babies, got everyone fixed. They are a lionhead, mini-lop/Rex mix. All of the babies look different. And the Papa? Well… They say that bunnies are not paternal… but oh boy. He has 5 best friends, and he is always kissing and grooming mommy. Mommy (petite lionhead) was amazing with every single kit. I even have a video of her nursing in front of me. We have tried very hard to create a safe, comfortable, and familial environment. I'd say we were 100% successful. Our exotic animal vet was both surprised and ecstatic, all babies are fully healthy, great ears, great teeth, healthy bowel movements, chipper as all get out, each with their own personalities. We ARE looking to have some of the babies going to a furever home, but it's so difficult, as these are precious babies and we see all the time how ignorant people can be with care, no matter how well-intentioned they are. Does anyone have experience with this? These babies are all adorable, all super unique, and have fun personalities. We have them used to handling and they do very well, but we are also very hands off with our rabbits unless necessary for grooming time etc in order for them to keep their own independence. I guess you could say they live as a very blended family. Housemate and I consider us their grandparents, and the Papa (BEW) is 100% our baby boy. Mommy is our sweet Princess Queen, and the babies are our little rascals. they crowd around your feet every morning and evening for feeding time, without fail. They are also free-roamed during the day while we are active. They have their own room, the door is left open during the day and they travel out to the living room at their leisure. It allows for them to also feel comfortable in a big space, and account for our movements, noises, etc.. right now they are about 6-7 weeks old. Papa bun could hear sirens go off and would sleep through it. They are properly and naturally desensitized to any sudden sounds/movements, of course they still have their natural instincts though. We have had plumbers, workers to the house, and they are completely undisturbed, and will even let people pet them if approached softly. They are very curious and brave. Some are curious and quiet. Anyway, I hope this post reaches some of you!!! This is just one bun, we dubbed thee Diamond, as you can see his diamond head insignia. He is now a huge poof with a dot of caramel on his head 😂
