It's been nine days since we got Strøssel. I fell in love with him immediately, and I just want him to have the best bunny life possible. Just looking at him makes me happy. And he's such a good boy not reacting to sudden sounds etc. He's not scared of us at all (I live with my boyfriend). But when we pet him, he often moves away a bit. He has been like that the entire time. If he's eating or laying down he doesn't move away if touched, so he doesn't hate pets. But it seems like he doesn't seek it either. And even though he's curious about what we're doing and doesn't seem scared at all, he hates being picked up. When being lifted, he tries to move away like crazy. I've tried to give him treats, but nothing changed; I can touch his belly when he eats, but he still hates being lifted. (I haven't tried lifting him many times, just a few over these nine days). I'm starting to wonder if that's just how he is?
What do you think? Should I just never lift him and not pet him that much, or should I do something differently? Do you think he has had a bad experience when being lifted early in life?
