Lost my baby today during a dental appointment

Please excuse the very new account, my old one is on my iphone which I currently don't have access to

I'm not even sure where to begin with this post, I'm not really an active poster on Reddit just a lurker but as the title says, my rabbit passed away today under general anaesthetic. Vets said his heart rate spiked and then crashed and couldn't be brought back. I'm devastated, he was only 5 which to me is still young considering they have an expected lifespan of 8-12.

For some context he wasn't eating much and displaying signs of discomfort with his mouth so I took him to the vets and they said he just needed a little filing on the back teeth as they were digging into his tongue and causing sores, hes had this done in the past with no complications at the same place and I was full of hope that it would all go smoothly.

I usually grieve pretty well and can recover fairly quick but this loss has me extremely down as we shared a closer bond in comparison to the pets I've lost in the past, he was there for me when I was in bad relationships and when I was SA twice, he gave me a reason to keep going because he relied on me and his firey spirit was so inspiring. I still have 2 other rabbits and a cat relying on me and who I love dearly but I'm finding it hard without him even tho its only been about half a day.

Sorry for the long post but I'd love to see some happy buns to cheer me up and if anyone feels comfortable sharing similar stories it would help me to feel less alone in my grief. Thank you ❤️ I've included a picture of my baby boy below
