Hello, So I own two rabbits. A female and a male. Both going to be two years old this year. They are both fixed as well. I had no trouble bonding my female (Arwen, my first rabbit) to Pippin (Male) and it literally took three days to bond them. Never fought a single time. Well now I have had them for a year and I had a friend who needed to rehome her male rabbit, Padfoot (4 years). I decided I’d take him and he is the sweetest thing ever. I have i’m separated off from Arwen and Pippin but they can still see and smell each other. I got him on Saturday and today (Monday) I tried to introduce them in neutral territory. I have been switching them in and out of cages so they can get use to Padfoot’s scent and Padfoot can get used to theirs. Pippin was fine. He had even been laying down next to Padfoot’s cage when they were separated. Pippin didn’t even try to fight. But Arwen on the other hand as soon as she saw Padfoot they immediately began to fight. Or more her fight him. Then Pippin, who had been totally fine and even let Padfoot sniff him, joined in on the fight. I broke them up and separated them. Now they are back in their cages. How do I bond these guys properly? It seems like Pippin isn’t the issue but more so Arwen. Padfoot didn’t even try to fight anyone until Arwen got mad. The girl I got Padfoot from said the rescue neutered him but she is not 100% if they actually did or not.
