Photo from yesterday for bunny tax.
I adopted the two white girls exactly 1 month ago. The girls, Maye and Sweet Pea, were a bonded pair and the Humane Society would only adopt them as a pair. They were spayed a few days before I adopted them.
I was nervous about a trio, but the meet and greet with my (neutered) boy Pippin went well – no fighting. They all live in my screen porch (14’x5’). There’s an a x-pen which I usually keep open. And there are multiple cubbyholes.
I WFH so they are always supervised. Once the girls are better with the litter box I will let them free roam in the living room (but not yet there’s still spraying.) I give Pippin time in the living room every day because he’s meticulous with his litter box habits.
No problems until this morning. I found one of the girls chasing/with the boy. I separated then and put Pippin in the living room.
Then the girls formed a tornado -chunks of fur coming out. It happened in an instant. When I physically separated them Maye had her teeth in Sweet Pea’s side.
Mow one is in the closed x-pen, while the other has the rest of the porch. The boy is in the living room. Each bunny has food water and a litter-box.
Around noon I switched the girls. Just now Pippin asked to go into the porch. So far so good, Pip and S-Pea are chilling.
Here’s the problem: I’m not sure whether I should release Maye from the x-pen? Or should I switch the girls again. Should I keep Pippin in the porch when I switch the girls?
Does this mean the girls bond is broken?
Is this last gasp of hormones?
Thanks
