My bunny Mona has started breathing hard on Tuesday, I took her to the vet on Thursday, and they diagnosed her with a respiratory infection. I have to give her antibiotics (orniflox) twice a day, and anti-inflammatoires (metacam) once a day.
Holding her down to put it in her mouth with the syringe is incredibly hard as she gets really scared, and she's a big bunny with her almost 6 kg, it's hard to put her in a burrito as she kicks and sometimes tries to bite. I've done this for the past two days, now she's already so traumatized that she starts thumping and hiding as soon as she hears me coming. It hurts me emotionally that I have to scare her so much and I'm honestly worried she'll never forgive me. She is the sweetest, cuddliest girl, I don't want that to change. I want her to trust me. Does anyone have any better ideas how I could give her her meds without scaring her to death twice a day for five more days? How can I effectively rebuild trust with her?
