Any guesses on his breed?

I just got him a bit ago as a surrender from the store I work at they told us hes 2 and is neutered. I dont think hes a Rex he doesn't have the right fur texture and doesn't have the curly whiskers i only know that cuz I have one but thats the only answer I can get online, he is quite feisty and anxious I dont think he came from a good environment. But I felt it could be important to mention incase his breed may act like that. Im not able to get him to the vet yet, but plan to. His name is Gilbert the Chosen One.
