Some of you in this sub may remember March 13th, 2025 when I made a post begging for hope. My bunny, Belmont, already an abuse survivor and amputee, had the worst case of stasis anyone at my vet had ever seen and it had resulted in an enormous undigested mass in his stomach. One year ago tonight my vet and I had the phone call where she told me she’d keep him on IVs over the weekend if I wanted to, but that come Monday, euthanasia was almost inevitable because the mass just wasn’t moving and he was in misery. Belmont said, “Hell no.” The next morning I got a call that he was eating hay. They x-rayed him and saw the mass had unexplainably made it down into his intestines and he went home that evening.
The top photo was earlier that week, right before his hospitalization, when he was the sickest creature I’d ever seen. The bottom picture is tonight. He’s had no health scares, hospitalizations, or stasis incidents since. He hasn’t even seen a vet since July when they tested him for E.C. (he was negtive).
